Project Management
Pre-Project Support - Review and Assessment of Work Scopes Successful projects are the result of careful planning and a complete understanding of the work scope before the project is initiated. CompuChem's Environmental Testing Lab Project Managers take pride in thoroughly reviewing and assessing customer work plans. All customer technical scopes are reviewed by our Quality Assurance staff, as well as the managers, whose lab area(s) will contribute to the preparation and analysis of the project samples. This information is discussed in daily laboratory operations meetings before samples arrive, to insure that everyone is in agreement relative to what is necessary to successfully meet project requirements. Input and suggestions are solicited from all participants in order that appropriate feedback can be given to clients in terms of the laboratory's ability to meet the technical specifications, reporting requirements, etc.
Whenever possible, our Project Managers may recommend a kick-off meeting, either face to face or by phone conference. Small, but important, details are worked out and examples presented for evaluation or consideration before the first sample arrives.
Project Management Overview
Project Management is a comprehensive approach to assessing the goals of a project and carrying out the work necessary to comply with customer-specific scope requirements. Our goal in Project Management is to insure that all clients meet their data quality objectives in a timely and cost effective manner.
CompuChem's Project Managers are empowered with the ability to obtain assistance from any laboratory staff whenever it becomes necessary to meet client needs. Each Project Manager will act and perform on your behalf as your internal advocate at our facility. Our Project Managers are tasked with the primary responsibility of meeting your needs.
Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Client information is processed through the LIMS from the time samples arrive, until the final report is generated. Specific information regarding each client’s requirements for its project is defined in the LIMS. Once samples are received, logged in, and labeled for processing, the LIMS system generates a detailed description that characterizes the tests and reporting requirements per sample and for each project. All areas of the laboratory have access to the information stored in the LIMS. Once testing is complete, final data acquisition is relayed to the LIMS which combines all the required data sets. Data elements are then reviewed and a final report is generated through LIMS. For further information on CompuChem’s LIMS system, please visit our
LIMS page.
